Training, Education and Awareness-Raising Resources

Free and openly available training, education, and awareness-raising materials can enhance the support available to children with developmental disabilities where key services may be scarce. A review of academic and grey literature by Genovesi et al. (2024) led to the compilation of available resources aimed at non-specialist professionals to promote their support to children with developmental disabilities in low and middle-income countries.

Information on the resources reviewed, including URLs to access them freely and copyright information for use, can be found at this link. At this URL, Table 1 lists resources for awareness raising in the general community and among health, education and community-based professionals. Tables 2 and 3 list resources that provide training and education on specific support strategies: Table 2 lists those relevant to health workers and Table 3 those for schoolteachers and other school staff.
